Just for kicks my partner, Osvaldo, and I, Jocelyn, will blog about a quote of happiness. The quote is, “Happiness always looks small while you hold it in your hands, but let it go, and you learn at once how big and precious it is” by Maxim Gorky. To us this quote means that in life you have to take risks to be able to experience their full potential. This quote stood out to us from a list of quotes we found in the Internet. It stood out because we both had the same experience with each other. We both had the same project and I wanted to create a project that was very creative but Osvaldo wanted to create a simple dull project. He wasn’t very expressive with the project and I knew he could do better. So then one day I was able to talk him into doing a long creative version of our project. At first he wasn’t very interested but as we kept going he started to get more into it. Than when we finish he was very happy with our result. He was able to reach his full potential and be very happy at the end. This quote is very important because it is a lesson that everyone can learn. If you reach your full potential and take risks then you will be very happy.

The robot without a skeleton!
This robot was inspired by a squid and is able to crawl on land. It has a soft, flexible body with no skeleton and is powered by pressuized air. The robot shown is only about 6 inches long and is crawling under a glass plate.

Excel?
At first, I had no idea about how to use Excel. I didn’t even know what it was useful for. Now I know that Excel is an extremely helpful item that is not so difficult to manage. I learned that the little squares are called cells and that where the information goes in. When the information is plugged in you can change it however you like. You can move the cell, copy the cell, merge the cell and delete the cells. The biggest thing I learned is that you can put equations into the cell and it will work as a calculator that will automatically come up with the answer. You can also take the equation of that cell and spread it to the necessary cells. This is very helpful to daily life; you can use it to create worksheet or important documents. It can also be used when you need to organize loads of information. I like that Excel makes your work and information organized and easy to read. The only thing I dislike about Excel is that it can be tricky to use sometimes. I really want to learn all the tricks to Excel. I want to be able to utilize this like if I’ve used it all my life.

Net Neutrality
I think network neutrality is when they try to split the internet into faster and slower lanes. The people that are willing to pay will get the faster lane while the rest get the slower one. The main people get to basically decide which page will work faster and which will not work very well. I think this is really unfair because it will make only certain companies rise and over power while the smaller companies wouldn't have a chance. There will be less competition which will probably decrease "special offers" or more improved things.

Robotic Legs
It’s amazing how much technology has advanced! The Nagoya Institute of Technology in Japan has developed special robotic legs. These legs can walk up to 15 miles by themselves! All you need to do is know how to get them started. First you just need move into a downward slope and then just give yourself a little push and there they go. They walk for you. These pairs of legs are made to be almost identical to human legs. There structure is tremendously precise, all their parts are proportional. The thighs, calves and feet are proportional in weight and length. These legs walked 100,000 unassisted steps (15km). Even though they took 13 hours to do that this is still pretty amazing. The scientists are hoping that they could apply these legs to sports and other things.
I think that this is incredibly amazing. I feel really happy that there is major hope for people with disabilities, people that were born without legs, and people who lost their legs somehow. Now, they can live normal lives and can walk and run. Technological advances like these are what we need more of. We need technology that can actually HELP people. Overall I think this is one of the best advances yet, now people don’t have to use wheelchairs anymore.

What is a cover letter?
A cover letter is like a hook to a great essay, it reels in the reader. A cover letter is used to convince the company to invite you to an interview and eventually hire you. It’s an introduction for your resume. The purpose of a cover letter is to show how unique you are in your ability and the value you will add to orgtheanization. On the other hand a resume gives further information. It describes your education, abilities and any experience you have had that would be in benefit of the job you want now. The resume is usually attached to a job application.
The information that is put in a cover letter is different from what you would put in a resume. In a cover letter, you need to state what position you are applying and how much you want it. You also need to mention your qualities that will help you do better in your position and list any experience you’ve had. Lastly, you need to write about your aspiration for an interview and leave them your contact information.
In conclusion, a cover letter is used to hook the reader into viewing your great job application in order to for them to interview you!

Mechanical Engineer
Since I was a child I always wanted to be someone to work with cars. I wanted to either create them or fix them, and now I really want to be an automotive mechanic. An automotive mechanic performs maintenance work on a vehicle in order to prevent damage from occurring. If damage does occur, you need to diagnose the problem and make repairs on the vehicle. The skills required for this job are pretty simple. You just need to know how to work with the equipment, be fast, accurate and use lots of logic and reason. For most jobs you need at least five years of experience and for the more paying jobs you need up to ten years or more of experience.
The company, Aerotek, wants someone that’s very focused and committed. They want someone to have the same goal they have which is to advocate safety for drivers and pedestrians, including children. They pay $25.000 - $35.00/hour.The job options are either full time, temporary, contract, or project. I picked this job because it’s something I always wanted to do since I was a child. I love taking things apart and fixing them to improve them. This job has everything I like, it allows me to improve and fix the structures of cars. I like that not only can I fix cars, but I can make the driver that much safer because they won’t have any car difficulties that can cause accidents. The thing I least like about this job is that it gets very competitive. It will get harder and harder to keep up through out the years. This is the only downside, I would like to maintain a good reputation and be ahead of the competition. Other than this I would really like to become an Automotive Mechanic.

Lost iPhone 5 Prototype
I truly think Apple needs to take better care of their Apple devices. They especially need to be careful with their prototypes because they seem to misplace and lose them a lot. When Apple lose their devices and get the police involved they get people in trouble and make the police look like terrible people. When the police was involved in looking for the iPhone 5 they searched a guy named Sergio Calderón. They were actually threatening him and asking if everyone in living in his house was a citizen. That made the police look awfully bad and that would’ve never happened if Apple never lost their prototypes.

The Internet of Things
I just recently read an article called, "The Internet of Things" and I have to say that it scared me very much. The article written by David H. Freedman says that in the future we might be able to keep tabs on everything we have, even pants. Can you believe it? A tiny pocket size phone will be able to keep track of all your belongings. They may even be able to keep track of other people if they get a chip installed in their body.
Personally I think that this is scary and astonishing. It would be extremely weird for someone to keeptrackof you and know where you are every moment of the day. This is also weird because it sends randomthingsabout your stuff into the Internet. It will send things into the Internet that you won’t be able to take back. Everyone will know what you have and where it is, so you will have no personal things or secrets.
I am against this idea. I think that people should try to keep more things to themselves. Technology likethis can be extremely dangerous in the hands of the wrong people. People with bad intentions can easily tracksomeone down and harm them. This can be tremendously dangerous. Whether it’s from cyber bullying orphysical harm, it’s still dangerous. I am also against this because people nowadays are becoming toodependent on technology. With this new "tool" coming along people are going to become even moredependent and don't forget to mention lazy. If more technology like this is being mad, then how are we goingto be able to have great leaders and a safe and calm environment in the future?
