Scarred

My first time getting a serious injury that required stitches was a quite interesting experience. I still remember the whole incident like it was yesterday. I was only seven years old. It was at night and my sister and I were playing with my neighbor. We were running around the front yard without a care in the world until I got hurt, badly. An arrow head from the fence we had on the lawn went through my back almost piercing my lungs. I remember the feeling; it was like a hard scratch and then my body went into shock. Numbness overtook my body. I was sort of hanging on the fence until my neighbor came and "unhooked" me. When he put me down I quickly ran to the bathroom and saw the puncture wound and knew it was serious but I just tried to forget about it and continued playing. Eventually my neighbor told my sister what happened and saw my wound and told my parents. I was so scared of my parents yelling at me that my body started to tremble and I started to cry. I cried and cried because I thought I was going to get in trouble but that wasn't what actually happened. Instead of yelling at me, they helped me. They all got rags and water to help stop the bleeding and put all kinds of liquids to sanitize the wound. Then they started the car and wrapped my in a blanket. I remember hearing crickets chirping and my family murmuring things to my neighbors. I remember the smell of the blood and the alcohol they used to sanitize it. I had no clue on what the blanket was for until a sudden chill went through my body.  My body began to shiver and I was freezing. The soft blanket wrapped around me wasn't enough.
I remember rushing into the hospital and my mother was very nervously filling out paper work. Right after she was finished a nurse came and told me to lay down on my stomach. I wasn't scared or nervous, I just wanted to go home. I remember the sound of my mom's shoes pacing on  the floor. She kept saying everything was going to be okay and not to be scared, but frankly I think she was the only on e who was afraid. The nurse penetrated my open flesh with needles, she said they were to numb the pain. I felt a lot of pain, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to make the nurse feel like she doesn't know how to do her job. After all the needles, wiping and sanitizing she picked up a large needle with bright white string attached to it. She took it and pierced my inner flesh and I just grind my teeth. I turned to look at my mom and she was trying not to look at it. When the nurse was done she picked up another needle that had wire attached to it and started to completely close up my wound from the outside. This one hurt a little less. I remember they told me that "it never happened" and that you couldn't even tell it was there. Then she patched me up and I stood up and carefully made the little hospital bed. The nurse called me crazy for doing that because she said she had never seen a child not cry through the process and still get up feeling fine.
Well we finally left the hospital and I fell asleep during the car ride. Now, nine years later, I have a huge scar to remind me of that day forever.

Google Glasses

Google Glasses are like iPods and iPhones integrated in spectacles form. Yes I would like to try these they seem to be very helpful in a way. They also look fun and it would be very nice to share a nice view with someone. No, I wouldn't like to use these daily because I wouldn't want every single person in the world to know where I am going. I like to have my privacy. I don’t want anyone to be tracking me down and stalking me. I also don't want to cause any accidents because of my distraction. My overall opinion of this is that this is amazing. Technology is advancing faster than we thought it would. They seem to be helpful to people who travel. It could also majorly help people with long distance relation or missing a relative who lives far. These Google glasses could cause many bad things. People will know everything about you, you can cause major accidents and you can also not do the things you’re supposed to do because it’s such a distraction. The other bad things that can happen are that they can be easily stolen or broken. These are the biggest cons.

Free Writing!

This week seems like its going to be a long weekend with lots of work and no sleep. Daylight savings time always messes with peoples sleeping rhythms. I wish i could roller blade on the smoothest floors and feel the wind through my hair. I wish i could just stop time and go into deep relaxation where only the best of nature surrounds me with the clearest, bluest skies and giant fluffy clouds that make all kinds of shapes as they pass by. Hearing only natures many voices and feeling the warm breeze acknowledging my presence. That would be nice. But no. Instead my week will consist of bothersome siblings that are always arguing in a tiny house that is never able to reach peace and the beautiful, sweet sound of nothing.

Roller blading is the best thing you can do after a long day of frustrating, hard work. As soon as you put them on all your worries vanish. At first you are calm and relaxed, skating a slow speed and enjoying your alone time. After that stage, you begin to let go and gain speed. This is when you have the most fun because you can feel the wind go through your hair and cooling your skin. Everything flies by you; all sorts of colors start to blend around you. The voices and loud noises all seem to fade away and you are by yourself.

Japan Will Have a Space Elevator by 2050!

Japan has recently announced that they will have a space elevator by 2050. This amazing elevator will shuttle passengers 36,000 kilometers above the Earth!  It will be able to carry 30 people and it will travel at 200 kilometers per hour. The company that will be making this possible is Obayashi Corp. They are still calculating the amount of money that will be used to make this possible, because obviously they can’t put a price on the construction yet. I truly think this is amazing! It’s a dream that is definitely possible and will come true. Imagine being able to see space, the stars, and other planets? That would be truly magnificent. This magical elevator is thirty eight years away. I think I should start saving money now because it is something that I beyond doubt want to be alive for. If the Japanese are able to pull this off it will definitely be a huge breakthrough in technology. It can open doors to other great possibilities. So far, the future has great new things that are waiting for us. Hopefully we all get to witness all these great things in our lifetime because the glimpse of it looks pretty grand.

The evolution of computers

Computers have tremendously evolved throughout the years. The most obvious way they evolved is in size. A computer used to take up a whole room, now it barely takes up any space at all, in fact its portable. The trend that has started recently is touch screen. In the past the computers barely even had a mouse. The computers of today are touch screen and voice and some voice commanded. In the article, "Computers: From 1939 to 2010” it shows the great evolution of our computers. Now we have computers with flat screens, with big screens and small screens. We also have laptops that come in all sizes. You can twist the screens in other laptops. The possibilities are endless really.
I honestly think that the computer will keep on evolving. They’re recently coming out with voice command computers. In the future the computers will be 100% voice commanded. Maybe they will even be able to make a computer that will be able to read your mind and body cues and be able to know what you want. When it comes to the technology of tomorrow anything is possible. I don’t doubt that they will be able to make a computer that can be integrated into your body.

Nutrition Talk

So on Wednesday, we had a guess speaker come in and talk to us about nutrition. His name was Mr. Diaz and he shared with us information that not a lot of people know about. He told us that many of the things we consume have already gone through a whole process that eliminates healthy vitamins and adds unhealthy things. Mr. Diaz explained how the nutritional labels in mostly everything we buy from stores have ingredients that we have no clue what they are. That to me seems so harmful to our bodies.
The most shocking thing that he told me was the truth about medicine. Mr. Diaz said that when we get sick, we all obviously go to the doctor. The doctor then examines you and prescribes you medication. The thing that I didn't know is that the medication he prescribes only treats the symptoms, never the real problem. He said that only about 6% of doctors advise their patients to start eating healthier and make better choices in order to get rid of your problem and it's symptoms. This was a real eye opener to me.
Another eye opener that he said was that we can achieve perfect health another way. The other way is by eating fruits and vegetables. They give you all the things that are vital to your body. Unlike medicine that treats symptoms and eventually makes worsens the problems, fruits and vegetables fight it. Mr. Diaz said that in some places it is illegal to cure yourself with vegetable juice. That made me see the power in natural things.

Once there was a boy who loved to eat pizza. He ate it everyday and shared it with no one. This little boy's name was Phill. He was a pretty greedy little boy, and was always causing mischief. Then the little boy start to beat up other kids. after a while he had been sent to the office for being a bully. people soon began to call him the pizza man!!! because when people saw him they suddenly took out a pizza and offered it in exchange for not being beaten. this boy soon became fat and started to breath heavy for everything he did. he was becoming ralph from simpsons. He then went to the pizzerria and there he saw the most gorgeous girl he had ever seen. He thought to himself, what if i go up to her and ask to buy her a pizza. He did that and then she looked at him with the big beautiful green eyes, he felt hipnotized by them, she felt unconfortable and she was slowly getting away. He then came to reality and asked her if she wanted to get some pizza. She said "no" becuase he was to fat. The boy left home cring because of what she said to him. he told his mom he was going to stop eating pizza. Months later he lost all that wait and gained muscle. One day he came into the pizzeria and saw the same girl. The girl went up to him and asked if he wanted to have pizza with him. He said "no because your mean."
